The Love of God pt. 4

23 February, 2025

In this sermon, we explore the profound and unchanging love of God, as revealed through Scripture. Drawing from 2 Timothy 1:2-3, we are reminded of the grace, mercy, and peace that flow from God’s love, which is poured out on us through Christ Jesus. This love is not distant or conditional but is deeply personal and intentional, as highlighted in Psalm 139:14, where we are reminded that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made.” God’s love is woven into the very fabric of our being, reflecting His care and purpose for each of us.

The greatest expression of God’s love is found in His commandments. In Matthew 22:37-39, Jesus teaches us to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. This twofold commandment reveals that God’s love is not only something we receive but also something we are called to share with others. His love transforms us, enabling us to live in a way that reflects His character and brings glory to His name.

As we reflect on the love of God, we are invited to rest in the assurance that His love is steadfast, unconditional, and all-encompassing. It is a love that calls us to draw near to Him, to love others sacrificially, and to live in the fullness of His grace. Let us respond to this incredible love by worshiping Him wholeheartedly and extending His love to a world in need.
