Pastor
Max E. Hayes
Pastor Max has been preaching since he was a teenager. With over 35 years of ministry, he preaches God’s Word with conviction and anointing. Pastor Max graduated from Vintage Bible College & Seminary with a Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree in Theology. In addition to preaching, Pastor Max teaches, plays piano and counts it an honor to stand with his sister each week, sharing the vision of God, leading others to Christ and equipping the saints.

Tammy H. James
Pastor Tammy has served in various areas of our church since it’s beginning. In addition to playing keyboard and leading Praise and Worship, she works closely with her brother in preaching and teaching the Word of God. Pastor Tammy graduated from _____ with a Bachelor Degree in Theology and has acheived a Masters Degree in Theology from Vintage Bible College & Seminary. She shares God’s Word with understanding and anointing.
Our Heritage
The Wave
Our church began as Statesville Full GospelTabernacle in October 1979 in the Woodmen of the World Building located on Old Mountain Road by Rev. Robert and Arlene Johnson. As we have grown throughout the years, we moved into our new facility in June 2005 and we continue to experience God’s grace and mercy. In January 2014, Rev. Johnson retired and the mantle of Pastor was passed onto his nephew, Rev. Max E. Hayes and his niece, Rev. Tammy H. James.
In January 2017, under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, we began the process of changing our name to THE WAVE.
Today, they continue to the ministry, working together, seeing the congregation strengthened and growing in God’s Word and the power of His Spirit.
Our church offers Sunday school classes for all age groups, Praise and Worship during our services and Mid-week Bible study. There are always activities happening around the church.
